What to do when damage occurs?

Of course things can go wrong during transport. Brenger is insured up to €250 euro for damage that occurs during transport.


The following conditions apply to Brenger's damage policy:

  • We are insured up to €250 for damage incurred during transport. Customers can add extra insurance up to €500, €1000 or €1500.
  • We do charge €50 own risk for you as the courier, in case you do not upload the correct pictures. If we are able to view the photos and see that the damage was already visible before loading, the own risk will be €0.
  • We are not insured for damage inside the house. Be sure to mention this when you arrive at a location. Get a signature from the customer. 


What photos should I upload?


To clearly determine when damage may have occurred, we ask you to take photos of every item you transport.


Before (at pickup)


- Take photos before lifting and loading the item into your van

- If an item already has damage or scratches, make sure this is clearly visible in the photos

- Upload them directly in the app


After (at delivery)


- Take photos after placing the item in the correct spot

- Upload them directly in the app


With these photos, you show:


- The condition of the item before transport

- How the item was delivered


Is there a damage claim? Then we can clearly demonstrate together whether it happened during transport.


  • If the conditions of this policy are met, the insurance does not charge an own risk, otherwise an own risk of €50 per transport applies. 
  • Is there already damage before the items(s) are loaded, take a picture in which this is clearly visible. This way we can prevent false damage claims.
  • It is important to always have the customer's signature, this way you can avoid unpleasant situations.
  • If damage occurs, the courier should contact Brenger and let the customer know that they can fill out the damage form via the track & trace code.
